Works Progress Administration manuscript of taxing unit atlas shows history and development of taxing units, brief territorial history and descriptions of taxing units and districts (i.e., state, county, township, road, city village, town, elementary school, high school, park, sanitary, forest preserve, fire protection, mosquito abatement, public health). Also included are charts which compare taxation to other states, lists of district elective offices and population and district size statistics.
